PROFESSIONAL LATIN DANCER, PERFORMER AND CHOREOGRAPHER  
She can take any stage, any space and make it her own. A serious-minded professional dancer,
teacher, ensemble member and visionary choreographer.

Ruby has worked and studied with the Mambo legend, Mr. Eddie Torres.  She has danced live at
Manhattan's most illustrious venues including Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, Manhattan
Center and Town Hall.  Ruby also shared her artistry with an appreciative worldwide audience,
appearing on stage next to the top legends of Latin Music, such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Cachao,
Eddie Palmieri, El Gran Combo, Andy Montañez, among many stars. TV and Music videos are still
another arena the multi-talented Ruby has conquered, appearing in “All My Children”, “The Kitchen”,
motion picture as well as a variety of Music Videos.  Ruby’s unique style in Mambo, Salsa and Cha-
Cha and her knowledge of the Latin American Folkloric repertoire, plus a lively take on other
contemporary and traditional dances including Afro-Caribbean, Samba, Modern and African Dance,
ensure that she's always in demand -- from the local club to the barrio, from Los Angeles to Italy

Victor brings to Mambo Bravo a distinctive and refreshing take on dancing.  

His creative classes give students the opportunity to quickly capture complex
turn-patterns with ease. Victor's flavorful style and innovative turn-patterns
attract some of the most advanced dancers in New York City.

His natural patience, dedication and love for teaching are Victor’s trademark.

Steve Colón
Mambo Bravo Mambo/Salsa and Cha-Cha Instructor

Steve Colón is a Salsa/Mambo/Cha-Cha dancer, performer and instructor from New
York City.  Born in The Bronx, he was deeply influenced as a teenager by the
revolutionary changes to Latin music that transformed it into what was to become
known world-wide as Salsa.

He was a long-time student of Eddie “The Mambo King” Torres and his wife Maria
and also spent a number of years studying with Jimmy Anton.  

Since 2005, he has been a proud member of Almyra Ayos’ CASA DE LA SALSA
Dance Company.  Steve and Almyra represented the company in September of ’07
when they traveled to Thailand where they had been invited to teach Salsa
workshops and perform at the annual SalsaBangkok Fiesta.  Steve also recently
performed with the dance company Oriki Omi Oddara in the Afro-Cuban stage
spectacular ORIKI A CUBA! – REZO POR TI under the direction of legendary
choreographer, dancer and performer Felix “Pupy” Insua.  Other performances of
note include the New York Salsa Congress, CDLS Tsunami fundraiser, S.A.V.E.
benefit for Film Aid, the book release party for “Mambo Peligroso”, Hope Inicitiva’s
benefit for the Casa Bernabe orphanage, the Connecticut Salsa Congress, the
Windows of Hope benefit for 9/11 and the Palm Springs Winter Salsa/Mambo
Festival as well as events for HBO, See and Be Scene Art & Music collective, and the
NYC Board of Education.  He has also performed at venues such as Lincoln Center,
the United Nations, Central Park and various clubs, schools and institutions in and
around New York City.

Steve is also an instructor at Rhythm Break studio in Manhattan and their sister
studio NY Wedding Dance, where he occasionally teaches classes at the studio but
spends most of his time in Rhythm Break’s Corporate Dance Program.  He goes on-
site to teach Salsa to the employees of companies like Citigroup, Avon, JPMorgan
Chase, and NBC.  Additionally, he has conceived Wedding-Dance-choreography for
some of the clientele of NY Wedding Dance.  

No matter where he teaches, Steve’s open, friendly, and patient style of teaching is
always very popular with his students.  He’s grateful to Ruby for the invitation to join
Mambo Bravo and excited to help her spread the joy!
Silvana Marquina
Mambo Bravo Brazilian Samba Instructor

Dancer ,choreographer, singer,writer and songwriter(she's a teacher
graduated in Ballet,and studied a variety of dances and techniques such as:  
modern, jazz, capoeira angola, butoh, contact improvisation,street dances like
popping and locking, hip hop, house, yoga and zen shiatsu.

In Brazil she danced at the Ballet Stagium, in Argentina at the Ballet Teatro
Argentino, in United States she performed at Lincoln Center, Radio City,
Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space and the White House (Capoeira Angola
National Fellowship Award).

Silvana currently choreographs for SOB's (Sounds of Brazil) in NYC.

She has performed with Stars: Aretha Franklyn, Wyclef Jean and friends
(Destiny Child's,Mary J Blage,Stevie Wonder)

Live performance for Jennifer Lopez during her record release party for  "on the
6".  Featured in ABC TV "One life to live", NY  Morning News Channel 11, VH1
story tellers Wyclef Jean.  India Arie's Video "ready for your love"

Participated in the Olympic Games in  Athens Greece,  where she danced in
behalf of Brazil in a production of forty countries.

Egyptian Oriental and Folklore, Arianna al Tiye technique

Born under the element of fire, NylaPhoenix is nothing short of sizzling!  
Originally trained in Modern, Salsa, and other Afro-Latin dance forms,
NylaPhoenix began her studies in Middle Eastern Dance in 2002, under her
noted master teachers such as Morocco, Tarik Sultan, Nourhan Sharif, and
Arianna Halima al Tiye, who helped to mold her dance career.  Additionally,
she accredits her inspirations in dance to great legends such as Mona El
Said and Raqia Hassan, both with whom she studied in Cairo, Egypt.  In
2007, NylaPhoenix joined as a member of the foremost Sub-Saharan
Oriental group, in the United States, "Nubian Moon Daughters Dance
Company", under the direction of Arianna Halima al Tiye.

NylaPhoenix has performed both in the U.S. and internationally, such as the
Rakkasah Festival of the East, Ahlan Wa Sahlan Dance Festival in Cairo,
Hunter College Dance Showcase, and at an array of weddings, restaurants
and private events in and around town. She holds firmly to the belief that
music and dance are special gifts offered by the gods and goddesses,
helping us to celebrate the gift of life.  Thus this gift should be exercised
daily, with every breath one takes.

NylaPhoenix currently teaches Egyptian Oriental and Folklore, Arianna al
Tiye technique at Mambo Bravo Latin Dance Studio in New York City.
